I wish these shoes worked for me, as I think the style is very cute and I LOVE bed|stü’s shoes. They look like a casual, shabby chic oxford that would go great with ankle length jeans. Hip without being hipster. Less fussy without the laces, unusual color, and substantial without being burly.
I wear an 8.5-9 and my other bed|stü shoes are 9s, so that’s what I ordered. These felt narrow to me, but too long (my heel lifted out of them with every step). The leather upper is stiff to the point of poking me in the foot in all the wrong places. No arch support. Just painful and uncomfortable all the way around.
One last note, they have a serious chemical smell. Maybe it’s the dye used, but they are seriously off gassing something petro-chemical.

Was not impressed

You can never go wrong with Bed Stu. Superior quality and comfort, worth every dime!

This shoe is so cool! I tried a few different colors and decided on the light grey glove leather. The shading is a little darker in spots but it give it a very cool vibe. I normally wear a 7-7 1/2 and got the 7 1/2 which fits perfectly. These will definitely be my go-to shoe this season.

These are beautiful shoes! So well made, and each pair is a little different, so one of a kind. I got the navy blue and they’re gorgeous, perfect with jeans during the fall. I have a pair of their boots also (that are perfectly broken in after 3 years of continuous wear) and I remembered the sizing was a little wonky, so I ordered these in both an 8 and 8.5. Both sizes fit, but I decided to go with the 8.5. If in doubt, I’d say you should size up rather than down. These are pretty much heirloom-quality shoes, you’ll wear them forever. They aren’t modern “comfort” shoes (which I also love), they’re old-fashioned, delicious smelling, squeaky leather shoes. I was able to wear them to work right out of the box with no issues, very comfortable, and I know they’ll get even more comfy as they adjust to my feet.

I love the shoes. First time I wore them I had a complaint from a total stranger. I had been searching for Bef Stu shoes for over 3 months. Zappo you rock for best price and service.

Beautifully made shoe. Quite stylish and different than the everyday oxford. They are much heavier than I anticipated.

I love the look of this shoe, just wish it had a higher heel to make it more feminine. It’s a heavy shoe, and seems to be very well made. I wear an 8.5 and ordered the 9 based on reviews. The fit was great.

Love this shoe. My only comment is that since this is a traditional leather shoe, it doesn’t have all the padding many lesser made shoes have in the sole. If I were to do a lot of walking in these, I would probably recommend a heel cushion.

This is my first pair of shoes from this brand and I will be keeping my eye out for future shoes. I almost sized up to a 10 after reading the reviews and I am glad that instead I chose my regular 9 1/2 size. I have a fairly flat foot vertically and my heel is a bit narrow so it tends to slip in shoes and develop blisters when they are new. I put the shoes on right out of the box to break them in around the house which is how I generally try to avoid blisters on my heel. So far, no blisters after several hours of wear, so I think I will be taking them out of the house when it stops raining. I find them remarkably comfy for a fancy shoe. I don’t wear a lot of fancy clothes, but I do like to dress up on my feet, so I chose the blue since I wear a lot of jeans. I am glad that I asked to be notified when my size came in because they were out of my size in the color I wanted and I just waited. I don’t mind investing in good shoes because I can’t think straight if my feet hurt.

I loved loved loved the way these look. The soles were flexible and slightly padded. I REALLY wanted them to work. I wear 7.5-8 pretty consistently in most shoes, and originally ordered 8.5 because of the reviews. Way too big. Ordered 8, which was closer but my heels slid out at every step. The 7.5 was tight through the toe box and a hair too short and the heels still slipped a little, so I had to say no in the end. TLDR: SUPER CUTE, runs slightly small, my heels slipped out, definitely try them on to see if they work for you.

I have multiple pairs of Bed Stu shoes and boots in size 8.5, but for the last few purchases I have made the 8.5 is too small. I am not sure if I will keep these yet, but if I do they will definitely need to be professionally stretched. They are fairly tight in width. I love the look of the shoe, and they are clearly well-made, but the sizing is getting hard for me to gauge with this company.

This is a great looking shoe, and I wanted it to work, but it is just too tight and I don’t think I will end up wearing them. I sized up from 8.5 to 9 (I usually wear 8.5) but that did not help. I have other Bed Stu shoes and boots in 8.5 and they fit, but the sizing really varies depending on the shoe style with this brand. My reduced rating is based on the unpredictable sizing of this brand.
If you have a more narrow foot, these should be fine. They are gorgeous and clearly well-made.

Oh how I wanted to love these! I had lusted after them for many months before finally ordering. I normally wear 9.5 but also ordered a 10 per other reviews. The smaller size was too tight, especially across the ball of the foot area. My heel slipped out of the larger size, which also made my feet look really long. I guess I need a size 9 3/4 like Harry Potter, lol. Returning. Sigh.

Bed Stu Rose is my absolute favorite shoe ever! I have them in every color except the navy from last year. I wear them with jeans, dress pants and dresses. They feel a little bit tight when you try them on, but after an hour or so they stretch and start to mold to your feet. They get more comfortable every time you wear them. I have plantar fasciitis and the stiffness of the shoes helps make up for the limited arch support. I normally wear an 8 in most shoes but have bought and kept an 8 1/2 in every Bed Stu Rose shoes I have (I think I’m up to 8 different colors now). They are totally worth the price!

Awesome, versatile shoe!! I found my normal size (8.5) to be a bit tight, so I traded for size 9, which gives me room for socks. I’ve been experimenting with these shoes – styling them with cropped jeans, longer skirts, shorter dresses, and rolled-up boyfriend jeans. They go with practically everything in my closet. I did a lot of walking in them today, and received many compliments – lots of people stopping me to ask where I got them (cha-ching, Zappos!) I can see that for the longer walks I would need to change out the already good insole to a custom orthotic. Thankfully, there is plenty of room in these shoes once you take out the original insoles. Can’t overstate how beautiful the workmanship is on these shoes! I got the tan color, which are highly versatile. One could spend a goodly amount of time admiring the detailed leather work and intricate stitching. To get the “no sock” look with these shoes, I’ve found that the Smartwool “Hide and Seek” socks (also sold by Zappos) work very well – staying hidden while still protecting the inside of this beautiful shoe. These shoes have great traction, so you might find this becoming a fall/winter/spring favorite! Check them out!

This is a beautiful shoe, but very narrow. While the leather is beautiful, there’s no support.

These are the most unique shoes I have ever owned. I actually feel like they are special. They are my favorshoes and I own many. I followed instructions of purchasing a 9 1/2 when I usually wear a 9 and they fit like a glove. I wear thin no show socks underneath. People ask about them and say they want a pair. You can see how much work has gone into them and the leather is great quality with a unique edge. Makes me want another pair of Bed Stü shoes or boots!!

I love these shoes! They are dressy and casual at the same time. Like reviews said, they DO run small! I usually wear size 8.5 in sneakers/flats, and 9 in heels or pointy shoes. I got size 9 and they are form-fitted to my foot. I’m wearing then barefoot until they break in, and I doubt I will ever fit more than trouser socks in them. The width is fine, the length is snug but breaking in, the only part that really needs a little stretching is the seam at the base of the tongue, it’s tight over my foot. I do own a professional shoe stretcher which I am using to very gently help stretch and hold the shape between wearing to break them in. They are tight when I first put them on, but as the leather warms to my foot, they soften and take the shape of my foot. Because they are built well I am comfortable with a little breaking in and stretching, but I recommend going at least a half size larger. These shoes look great with jeans, dresses or skirts. Super classy.

After reading the reviews, I was worried about the fit, but even with my wide feet and high arches, they fit perfectly after a day of breaking in. I don’t ever spend this much on shoes, but these are so stylish, unique, well crafted, and comfortable that they are worth every penny. Love the leather, the stitching, and how they go with most everything. I’ll be wearing these for years to come.

Agree shoes are beautifully made, found them very true to size. (I’m generally a 7.5/8, the 8 was perfect) the only problem I have is with the color. As shown, they are a warm brown, with some dark red undertones. In person they are a light tan, more flesh colored than brown or even taupe. They’re pretty, but just a very very different color than pictured. And no, this isn’t just a “unique” shade that varies from pair to pair. I’ve ordered 2x and they’re the same pale, flesh toned leather. I’m keeping them and will try to darken with mink oil but it’s silly given the price point.

Gorgeous shoes, but be prepared for your foot to feel like it’s in a vise. It’s not that they’re “narrow” (I don’t have particularly wide feet anyway) it’s that they smash down on your toes.

LOVE this shoe. A little snug but sizing up would be too big. Style is on point. Will wear for years to come.

These shoes are comfortable, but will have to wear with thicker socks as they run large. Wanted a slip on sturdy shoe to wear casually or with dresses for a boho look. The handmade look and feel is great. The red rubber toe sole is peeling a little, but a touch of glue should fix them.

Ordered my size and could not even get it on my feet. So disappointed, thought that it was unbelievably beautiful shoe. My husband thought it was simply georgous. Really wish it had fit. Looked for a larger size, but not available.
